Adalyn Rose Foundation’s 5th Annual Empty Stroller Run

from Adalyn Rose Foundation

The Adalyn Rose Foundation (ARF), a Reading-based nonprofit organization, plans to host over 1,000 people at the Berks County Heritage Center on Sunday, Oct. 15, for its fifth annual Empty Stroller Run and Walk. There has already been $60,000 raised for the Empty Stroller annual fundraising event and campaign, which will be used to fund its mission of supporting families grieving the loss of a baby during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood.

Participants can join the Empty Stroller Run and Walk virtually or by attending in-person events on Oct. 15 in Reading or Oct. 27 in Scranton. Those interested can register online at www.adalynrose.org/upcoming-events.

ARF Founder and Executive Director Chloe Ciferri stated, “There is a huge community of people that have lost a child and want to honor them while helping the families that come after.”

Over the last few years, the ARF team has created a comprehensive care system that includes training healthcare professionals, providing immediate resources and remembrance keepsakes in over 30 hospitals, and ensuring that families don’t have to navigate life after baby loss alone. Like the nonprofit’s programs and services, the Empty Stroller Run and Walk has also grown significantly since it first began.

Co-founder and Board President Adam Ciferri shared, “We have grown this event from 160 people the first year to over 1,000 participants nationwide. The love and support we have received from the community has been incredible and has shown just how needed this organization was.”

Participants who plan to attend the in-person event at the Berks County Heritage Center can expect a post-race event with a performance by Erich Cawalla and Friends from the Uptown Band, along with tons of raffles, complimentary coffee, donuts, and post-race food. A kids’ area will also have free caricature drawings, face painting, a magician, vendor stations, photo opportunities with favorite characters, and a huge bubble show.

The couple shared, “This is such an incredibly powerful and special event, and we look forward to raising awareness and funds for bereaved families.”
