BCTV Announces Two New Board Members, 2025-26 Elected Officers

Berks Community Television (BCTV) proudly welcomes Heidi Mau and Carolyn Shultz Spano to our Board of Directors. Their terms as directors became effective July 1, 2025.

About Our New Board Members

Heidi Mau is an associate professor in the Department of English and Communications at Albright College, teaching courses in design, digital literacy, and media studies. She started her media career as a producer/trainer with Grand Rapids Cable Access Center (GRTV) in Michigan and held various positions with Columbus Community Cable Access (ACTV) in Ohio. She holds a doctorate in media & communication from Temple University.

Carolyn Shultz Spano is the director of advancement & communication for the Reading Public Library. A confident and passionate fundraising professional, Carolyn has over 20 years of proven fund-generating success for various nonprofit organizations, including her previous work and leadership roles with Bethany Children’s Home and the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance.

She serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is currently chairing the membership committee. She is also the former treasurer of the Little Scouts Football Association and is one of the founding members of Women2Women, a program of the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of Harcum College and a 2004 graduate of Leadership Berks.

BCTV is also pleased to announce our 2025-26 elected Board officers are as follows:

BCTV’s mission is to empower people and engage community through media. We work to serve the residents of Berks County as an indispensable civic media hub; the “go to” place for community information.
