Timmy Fries and Chase Kegerise combined on a one-hitter with Kegerise driving in the game’s only run as Oley Valley defeated Conrad Weiser 1-0 in high school baseball on Friday.
Fries pitched five innings of scoreless ball, giving up the one hit and striking out 6. He did not walk a batter. Kegerise pitched the last two innings, walking one batter and striking out 2 to get the save.
In the top of the sixth inning, Kegerise drove in Paul Patterson who had reached on a walk.
Fries was still the pitcher of record and earned the win with Kegerise coming on in relief in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Carlo Woellner-Davis had the lone hit for Conrad Weiser (1-5). Woellner-Davis also pitched a fine game, allowing the three hits, one earned run and striking out 6 in 6 innings for work.
Oley improved to 4-2.
Fleetwood 4, Berks Catholic 3
After Berks Catholic scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning, Fleetwood responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning to pull off a 4-3 win over the Saints on Friday.
Fleetwood pitcher Tyler Dilbeck got the winning, pitching all eight innings, giving up 7 hits, 3 runs, two of them earned, and striking out one. He walked just one batter.
For the Tigers, Nick Noll and Ashton Hartkopf each drove in two runs.
For the Saints, Trey Stricker went 3 for 4 with an RBI and pitched 6 innings, striking out 9 and giving up just 2 hits and one unearned run. Dennys Rodriguez had 2 hits and an RBI.
Kutztown 14, Brandywine Heights 3
Kaden Kerecz went 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI as Kutztown defeated Brandywine Heights 14-3 in five innings in high school baseball on Friday.
For the Cougars, winning pitcher Ashton Dunn went three innings, allowing 3 hits and striking out 4. Chris Bergstrom pitched the last two innings, giving up one and striking out 3.
Kutztown (4-0) scored eight runs in the top of the first inning and rapped out 13 hits in the game. The Bullets are 2-4.
Schuylkill Valley 5, Pequea Valley 3
Salinger Kehs-Rossi went 3 for 3 and drove in three runs as Schuylkill Valley defeated Pequea Valley 5-3 in a non-league game on Friday.
Winning pitcher Chase Keller went 4 2/3 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 unearned runs. Connor Huggard, who had two hits, pitched the last 2 1/3 innings of shutout ball.
Twin Valley 15, Lancaster Catholic 4
Luke Wagner and Matt Knight each knocked in three runs as Twin Valley defeated Lancaster Catholic 15-4 in a non-league game on Friday.
Logan Crunk and Nate DiRocco chipped in 2 RBI each for the Raiders.
Exeter 12, Lancaster McCaskey 0
Gavin Miller gave up three hits and struck out 8 as Exeter defeated Lancaster McCaskey 12-0 in five innings on Friday.
Jake Hafer and Chase Youse each scored three times for the Eagles.
Penn Manor 3, Daniel Boone 1
Oliver Hanna allowed one earned run and struck out 5 as Penn Manor defeated Daniel Boone 3-1 in a non-league game on Friday.
For the Blazers, Zachary Hasara drove in their only run.
