Berks baseball roundup: Berks Catholic downs Wyomissing

Dennys Rodriguez and Owen Schalk each knocked in two runs to lead Berks Catholic to a 7-1 win over Wyomissing in high school baseball on Friday.

For the Saints, winning pitcher Trey Stricker struck out 9 in six innings of work, giving up one earned run and 5 hits.

Berks Catholic is 6-2, 3-0. Wyomissing is 3-2, 1-1.

Gov. Mifflin 4, Fleetwood 0

Travis Jenkins went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI as the unbeaten Mustangs defeated Fleetwood 4-0 on Friday.

Evan Glucksnis was the winning pitcher, gling 6 1/3 innings, striking our 4 and allowing just 4 hits. RJ Weaver got the last two outs for the save.

Gov. Mifflin 9-0, 4-0 BCIAA. Fleetwood is 5-2, 1-1.

Hamburg 7, Schuylkill Valley 0

Ty Shuey pitched a complete game shutout as the Hawks defeated Schuylkill Valley 7-0 on Friday.

Shuey allowed just 3 hits and struck out 7.

Shuey also went 3 for 4 with an RBI.

Hamburg is 5-3, 2-0. Schuylkill Valley is 3-6, 2-2.

Kutztown 10, Antietam 0

Colton Mathias and Colin Diehl each drove in two runs as the Cougars scored a 10-0 win over Antietam in five innings on Friday.

Winning pitcher Elliot Knutsen went four innings, striking out 5 and allowing just 2 hits.

Kutztown 6-1, 2-1. Antietam 0-6, 0-4.

Wilson 8, Reading 1

Alex Ernesto and Gabe Spohn each drove in 2 runs as Wilson defeated Reading High 8-1 on Friday.

Winning pitcher Christo Hunsicker went 5 innings, striking out 7 and allowed just 2 hits.

Wilson is 4-2, 2-1. Reading High is 2-6, 0-4.

Other scores: Boyertown 5, Daniel Boone 0. Tulpehocken 19, Pequea Valley 7.
