Berks baseball roundup: Gov. Mifflin improves to 19-1 with win over Reading High

Cam Zurawski hit a 2-run double and Bryce Detwiler was 3 for 4 with an RBI, 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases as Gov. Mifflin defeated Reading High 6-1 on Friday night.

The Mustangs improved to 19-1 and 12-0 BCIAA Division 1.

RJ Weaver started and pitched 3 shutout innings allowing 2 hits with 4 strikeouts.

Ethan Grim pitched the final 4 innings for the win, allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run with 4 strikeouts.

Christopher Disla was 2 for 3 and Janser Paredes had a triple for Reading High (5-14, 2-10).

Wilson 6, Muhlenberg 0

Jack Gabel knocked in 2 runs and two Wilson pitchers combined on 4-hitter as the Bulldogs defeated the Muhls 6-0 on Friday.

Ben Kulp pitched five innings, striking out 9 and giving up 3 hits to get the win. Kaden Ballas pitched the last two innings, striking out 2 and giving up one hit.

Nick Herron went 2 for 3 for the Bulldogs (13-6, 8-4).

Eli Keller (double) and Cole Moody each had 2 hits for the Muhls (11-8, 5-7).

Berks Catholic 13, Schuylkill Valley 6

Aidan Curley went 3 for 4, including two triples, and drove in 4 runs as Berks Catholic defeated Schuylkill Valley 13-6 on Friday.

Also for the Saints (13-6, 9-3), Mike Fidler and Owen Schalk each had 2 RBIs. Starting pitcher Trey Stricker got the 150th strikeout of his career in going 5 innings and striking out 7.

For the Panthers (6-13, 4-8), Salinger Kehs Rossi (triple), Wisten Ramos (double) and Bodie James each had 2 hits.

Kutztown 16, Antietam 1

Kutztown scored 12 runs in the top of the seventh inning and went on to beat Antietam 16-1 on Friday.

For the Cougars (12-6, 7-4), Ashton Dunn went 4 for 4, including a double, with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored, and Zane Cherrie and Chris Bergstrom each drove in 2 runs.
