Berks basketball roundup: Ty Werley’s big fourth quarter leads Hamburg to come-from-behind win

Tyler Werley poured in 15 of his game-high 30 points in the fourth quarter as Hamburg rallied for a 69-61 win over Wyomissing on Tuesday night in boys basketball.

The Hawks trailed 46-42 after three quarters, but outscored the Spartans 27-15 in the final quarter.

Werley made two three-pointers, two two-pointers and five free throws in the final eight minutes of the game.

Ricky Clark added six of his 14 points in the final period, and Andrew Arroyo (12 points) chipped in four points and Dai Henderson two for the Hawks.

Hamburg lead 31-27 at halftime, but Wyomissing’s  Danny Fleischood and Daniel Moyer each scored six points in the third quarter as the Spartans took a four-point lead entering the final period.

Fleischood finished with 17 points and Dom Arguelles and Moyer each had 12.

Mifflin 65, Wilson 59 2 OT

Ian Fleming scored six points in the second overtime period as Gov. Mifflin defeated Wilson 65-59.

Until the second overtime, Fleming had scored just one point in the game. He made two two-pointers and 2 of 4 foul shots as the Mustangs pulled out the win.

The game was tied at 45-all after regulation and each team scored 10 points in the first overtime, with Jahmair Johnson and Andrew Galantuomo each getting four points for the Mustangs.

For Wilson, Madyx Gruber and Tommy McFadden each had five points in the first overtime.

Gruber finished with 23 in the game and Correll Akings had 10.

Galantuomo led the Mustangs with 17, Johnson had 15 and Matt Koehler 13.

Schuylkill Valley 73, Oley Valley 47

Cooper Hohenadel scored 28 points to lead Schuykill Valley to a 73-47 win over Oley Valley.

Lucas Spotts chipped in 14 for the Panthers.

Even Fisher had 10 points for Oley.

Muhlenberg 71, Twin Valley 50

Jayden Kantner scored 22 points to lead Muhlenberg to a 71-50 win over Twin Valley on Tuesday.

For the Muhls, Shermar Killen added 13 points.

For the Raiders, Riley Gray had 19 points and Carter Schmidt added 13.

Antietam 55, Kutztown 49

A.J. Scheifly scored 17 points to lead Antietam to a 55-49 win over Kutztown.

For the Cougars, Chris Bergstrom scored 14 points.

Tulpehocken 40, Brandywine Heights 39

Calvin Kampe scored five points and Aidan Schwalm four in the fourth quarter as Tulpehocken came-from-behind to beat Brandywine Heights 40-39.

The Trojans trailed by two entering the final period, but pulled the game out by outscoring Brandywine 13-10 in the final eight minutes.

Tommy Clark led Brandywine with 14 points.

No one scored in double figures for the Trojans. Schwalm and Aaron Wilson each had nine points, Toby Courtright had eight and Kampe seven.

Girls

Wyomissing 66, Hamburg 15

Amaya Stewart scored 25 points to lead Wyomissing to a 66-15 win in girls basketball over Hamburg.

Other scores: Manheim Central 46, Daniel Boone 15.

Northern Lebanon 54, Fleetwood 12.
