Wilson’s Colton Buckley and Exeter’s Haley Schwenk were the individual winners in the Berks County Interscholastic Athletic Association individual bowling championships.
Buckley, a senior, defeated Daniel Boone senior Blake Jeitles 223-205 in the championship match.
Schwenk, a junior, won the girls title, downing Gov. Mifflin senior Valleri Addis 245-168 in the championship match.
Wilson juniors Logan Mitchell and Aiden Hattendorf were third and fourth, respectively, in the boys competition, with Gov. Mifflin senior Chase Spiers fifth and Exeter senior Ben Seeberger sixth.
In the girls division, Muhlenberg freshman Shelly Rohrbach finished third, Exeter junior Makenzie Fizz was fourth, Gov. Mifflin senior Lily Watts was fifth and Wilson junior Brielle Turner was sixth.
The BCIAA has qualified 12 bowlers for the District 3 tournament in both the boys and girls tournaments, which are Feb. 22 at Heister Lanes.
Joining the six top finishers in the BICAA boys competition at the district championships are: Muhlenberg’s Cameron Peffel, Wilson’s Riley Demsko, Antietam’s Jason Kline, Exeter’s Joe Vasquez, Hamburg’s Jaxon Seidel and Schuylkill Valley’s Noah Gehret.
Joining the six top girls finishers in the BCIAA meet at the districts will be: Gov. Mifflin’s Serina Miller, Daniel Boone’s Emma Elgonitis, Wilson’s Lily Rutt, Daniel Boone’s Breanna Fitzcharles, Gov. Mifflin’s Antonia Pitruzzella and Hamburg’s Shay McCarty.
