Berks Catholic committed six errors in falling 5-2 to Big Spring in a District 3 Class 4A quarterfinal softball game Thursday at Newville.
The third-seeded Bulldogs (18-3) were down 2-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth, but took advantage of two errors to score two unearned runs to take a 3-2 lead.
They added two more runs in the sixth.
Pitcher Danielle Hayward went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple for the sixth-seeded Saints (14-5). She also allowed five hits and struck out seven in six innings.
Rebecca Adams and Giana Mirenda each had two hits for Berks Catholic.
Big Spring will host Middletown in a semifinal game Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
