Get ready to experience a world of culture, music, and community spirit! The 2025 Berks Cultural Diversity Festival is set to take place on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., at City Park. This highly anticipated event, now in its sixth year, is a vibrant showcase of the many cultures that make Berks County a rich and diverse place to live.
The festival serves a crucial purpose in our community. In an increasingly connected world, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual respect has never been more important. The Berks Cultural Diversity Festival provides a platform for people from all walks of life to come together, share their traditions, and learn from one another. By celebrating our unique differences, we build bridges of understanding and strengthen the social fabric of our community.
This year’s festival will feature an incredible lineup of performances, delicious international cuisine, and a wide array of cultural vendors. The day’s events will be expertly guided by DJ Check for Me, with DJ Roodly Mix providing a lively musical backdrop for the flag procession, a colorful and meaningful tribute to our community’s global heritage.
A Day of Diverse Performances
The festival stage will be buzzing with energy from start to finish. Highlights include:
- Pen 2 Paper (1 p.m.): A powerful poetry and spoken word performance from Kutztown University’s talented group.
- Bully (1:30 p.m.): A dynamic performance by the renowned reggae and dancehall artist.
- Brazilian Vibes (2 p.m.): Get ready to dance to the authentic sounds of Brazil with this lively band.
- Allegro Dance Studio (2:40 p.m.): Be captivated by an elegant and expressive dance performance.
- Wanda Holdren Dance Academy (3 p.m.): A high-energy Latin dance routine that will set the stage on fire.
- Xion Dance (3:47 p.m.): Albright College’s dance group will perform a captivating and rhythmic routine.
- Mafalda Stilt Dancer (4 p.m.): Prepare to be amazed by this incredible stilt dancer from Philadelphia.
- Stone Boys (4:30 p.m.): Rock out with a powerful and passionate pow wow performance.
- Grupo Uarhani (5 p.m.): Experience the traditional and folkloric music of Mexico.
- La Experiencia Musical (5:30 p.m.): Close out the festival with the incredible sounds of this talented group.
The event will also include an awards ceremony at 3:35 p.m. to honor Debbie Goldberg and Margo Levin for their significant contributions to diversity and inclusion in Berks County through the Jewish Federation of Reading/Berks and the Greater Reading Unity Coalition.
