Berks high school honor roll: Feb. 21, 2022

Boys basketball

Reading High senior Daniel Alcantara scored 20 points, including the 1,000th of his career, in an 83-42 win over Wyomissing in a Berks Conference quarterfinal. He had 27 points and 11 rebounds in a 70-54 victory over Muhlenberg in the semifinals and had five points, nine rebounds and two blocks in a 51-35 win over Berks Catholic in the final.

Girls basketball

Gov. Mifflin junior Shakyla Mayo scored eight points — including the game-winning, buzzer-beating field goal — in the Mustangs’ 41-40 victory over Berks Catholic in the BCIAA semifinals. She then scored a game-high 19 points to the lift Mustangs to the Berks title with a 47-34 win over Wilson.

Boys bowling

Antietam senior Josh Bauer won the BCIAA individual title with an eight-game total of 1,976, including the second 300 game of his career.

Girls bowling

Gov. Mifflin senior Andria Addis won her second straight BCIAA individual championship with an eight-game total of 1,737.

Boys swimming

Wilson junior Josh Woessner won the 50 free and 100 free and swam on the winning 200 free and 400 free relays at the Central Penn League championships.

Girls swimming

Muhlenberg junior Sydney Gring won two events and set three meet and three pool records at the Central Penn League championships. Gring won the 200 free in a meet- and pool-record 1:48.68 and won the 100 breast. She also set the meet and pool records in the 100 free by opening the 400 free relay in 50.70, and in the 50 free by opening the 200 free relay in 23.48.

Wrestling

Daniel Boone sophomore Tucker Hogan won the 172-pound title with three first-period falls and was named the Outstanding Wrestler at the District 3 Class 3A Section 1 Tournament, helping the Blazers win the team title.
