Gov. Mifflin junior Travis Jenkins went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, four RBIs and two runs scored in the Mustangs’ 9-1 win over Kutztown in the Berks quarterfinals.
Boys lacrosse
Wilson senior Cohen Renninger had four goals and two assists in the Bulldogs’ 14-3 win over Exeter in the Berks semifinals.
Girls lacrosse
Twin Valley freshman Stephanie Dunbar made 11 saves in the Raiders’ 8-7 win over Wyomissing in the Berks semifinals.
Softball
Exeter junior pitcher Cheyenne Boyles tossed a complete-game shutout in the Eagles’ 7-0 victory over Berks Catholic in the Berks quarterfinals. She allowed three hits and struck out five.
Boys tennis
Wyomissing juniors Aaron Andrews and Truman Peters finished third in the District 3 Class 2A doubles tournament to clinch a berth in the PIAA doubles tournament.
Boys track and field
Schuylkill Valley senior Luke Martinez was the highest individual point scorer at the Berks championships. Martinez won the pole vault at 13-6, the triple jump with a leap of 43-2.5 and finished second in the long jump with a distance of 21-4.5.
Girls track and field
Muhlenberg senior Nadly Gyapong was the highest individual point scorer at the Berks championships. She won the 100 with a time of 12.57, the 200 with a time of 25.94 and finished second in the 400 with a career-best time of 59.59.
Boys volleyball
Exeter senior Jack Forry had 32 assists, six digs, one ace and one block in the Eagles’ 3-0 win over Schuylkill Valley in the Berks semifinals, keeping Exeter’s perfect season alive.
