Berks softball: Kutztown’s Briana Bauscher shuts down Wyomissing

Winning pitcher Briana Bauscher allowed only two hits in Kutztown’s five-inning 11-0 win over Wyomissing in high school softball on Thursday.

Bauscher struck out 5 and didn’t walk a batter.

For the Cougars (8-2, 5-0), Felicia Oldt had three hits including a double and triple and drove in two runs, and Klara Schnore doubled twice.

For the Spartans (5-5, 3-2), Kyla Lytle and Ellie George had their hits.

Twin Valley 6, Fleetwood 2

Ella Herbst went 4 for 4 as Twin Valley defeated Fleetwood 6-2 on Thursday.

Herbst singled in the first, second, fifth and sixth inning.

A fielder’s choice by Maggie Krall put Twin Valley ahead 1-0 in the first innings.

Fleetwood tied the game in the top of the second with the help of Raiders’ error.

Twin Valley took the lead in third inning when Erin Cromwell, the winning pitcher, doubled to knock in a run and make it 2-1.

Cromwell gave up just 2 hits and 2 runs, neither earned, over seven innings, striking out seven and walking two.

Cromwell had 3 RBI in going 2 for 3, and Hailie Barton went 2 for 3.

Tulpehocken 4, Oley Valley 3

Juliet Snyder drove in two runs in Tulpehocken’s 4-3 win over Oley Valley on Thursday.

Kylie Snyder (1 RBI) and Ember Sunday each had 2 hits for the Trojans.

For Oley, Brianna Garcia had 3 hits, and Emma Ott and Cheyenne Walsh each had two hits and an RBI.
