Berks tennis: Berks Catholic wins both doubles matches to beat Gov. Mifflin

Jack Krajsa and David Schnatz, and Lukas Arbuckle and Lucas Bauer teamed up in doubles to win for Berks Catholic and rally the Saints to a 4-3 win over Gov. Mifflin in high school boys tennis on Thursday.

Gov. Mifflin took a 3-2 lead after the singles matches with Tiberiu Danciu, Mason Schultz and Ethan Kurtz winning.

The Saints stayed close as Arbuckle and Bauer won in singles.

Singles: Tiberiu Danciu (GM) def. Jack Krajsa 7-5, 6-7 (5-7), 10-8; Mason Schultz, (GM) def. David Schnatz 6-3, 4-6, 10-5;  Lukas Arbuckle (BC) def. Jack Bortz 6-3, 6-2;  Lucas Bauer (BC) def. Andrew Balthaser. 6-2, 6-2; Ethan Kurtz (GM) def. Collin Gilbert 6-3, 6-0.

Doubles: Jack Krajsa/David Schnatz (BC) def. Tiberiu Danciu/Jack Bortz 6-2, 6-2;  Lukas Arbuckle/Lucas Bauer (BC) def Andrew Balthaser/Ethan Kurtz 6-2, 6-1.

Wyomissing 7, Fleetwood 0

Singles: Parth Khachane (W) def. Lane Geiger 6-0, 6-0; Aaron Andrews (W) def.  Collin Border 6-0, 6-1; Truman Peters (W) def. Alex Emery 6-0, 6-1; Kyren McCabe (W) def. Josh Preletz 6-0, 6-2; Max Weiss (W) forfeit.

Doubles: Max Weiss/Adrien Bongbong (W) def. Geiger/Border 8-2; Noah Gibney/Cooper Stringer (W) def. Emery/Preletz 8-1.

Other scores: Daniel Boone 7, Antietam 0. Chase Gerloff, Lucas Armbruster and Logan Illigasch won contested matches in singles.
