Blue Mountain schools getting computer upgrade

A complete upgrade of the Blue Mountain School District’s network server software and storage hardware will be completed. On Nov. 16 the school board voted to approve using $121,616 in federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funding for IntegraONE to perform the upgrade.

In other business, the following were approved:

• A one-year maintenance agreement with Proasys to provide district wide geothermal system and water analysis at a cost of $2,165.00.

• An $8,930 change order for modifications in the layout, grading, and drainage for the athletic shot put area.

• An independent contract with Acorns to Oaks Consulting, LLC to provide special education evaluation services from Feb. 1 to May 31.

• The creation of two full-time personal care aide positions.

• Amending a medical services agreement with two Geisinger Clinic doctors to perform physical examinations for children in kindergarten, sixth grade and 11th grade.

• Accepting the resignation of Nicholas Adams as assistant football coach effective Nov. 7.

• Courtney McCabe as musical production assistant director at a stipend of $840.

• Nicole Touchinsky as BMEE Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports (PBIS) co-adviser at a stipend of $256.

• Megan Watkins as BMEE PBIS co-adviser at a  stipend of $256.

• Brianna Johanson as BMHS Leo Club adviser at a stipend of $903.

• Randy Metzger as BMHS STEM engineering advisor at a stipend of $590.

• Amanda Horoschak as BMEW PBIS adviser at a stipend of $700.

• Cory Smith as BMMS What’s So Cool About Manufacturing adviser at a stipend of $550.

• Kelly Long as BMHS TV studio adviser at a stipend of $1,079.

• Zachary Scheffler to serve as volunteer wrestling coach.

• A special education service agreement between the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29 and the Blue Mountain School District for 2023-2024 at a total cost of $396,424.

• An IDEA-B subgrant agreement with the IU for 2023-2024 at an estimated allocation of $521,633.

• An agreement with the IU for Implementation of Individuals with Disabilities Act – Section 619 for 2023-2024 in the amount of $7,887.

A community breakfast will be held Dec. 5 from 8:15 to10 a.m. at the middle school.

Also at the middle school will be Wreaths Across America on Dec. 14
