The Schmidt Training and Technology Center at RACC will host its “Fundamentals of Project Management” workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This project management course offers a fundamental look into the key best practices of project management. The course will be delivered over four sessions with in-class and out-of-class activities. Participants will learn how to plan a project and then lead the project to a successful delivery. The Schmidt Training and Technology Center at RACC will host its “Taking the Lead — Skill Building for Supervisors/Team Leads” workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This workshop presents new supervisors and team leads with proven best practices to successfully coach and lead highly productive teams. The supervisor/team lead will learn how to understand and supervise different generations, which allows them to coach effectively, give and receive constructive feedback using proper communication skills, conflict management for dealing with difficult behaviors, and effective time management strategies. Berks LaunchBox presents “Design Like a Pro With Canva,” 10 to 11:30 a.m., virtually via Zoom. Through real-world examples and a live demo, in this program, attendees will gain the confidence to design like a pro. We’ll finish with a Q&A to address all your design questions. Attendees will learn: How to set up a free Canva account; techniques to customize ready-made templates; step-by-step guidance on designing a graphic from scratch; best practices for sizing and downloading designs for any platform. The Small Business Resource Association will host a Tuesday Tune-Up workshop, “IT Horror Stories, Industry Secrets, and the Path to Smooth Operations,” 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., virtually via Zoom. Presented by Andrew Sonon, attendees will hear about horror stories and industry secrets, as well as what a great IT experience looks like, and they’ll learn what questions to ask when evaluating options. Berks Women2Women (W2W), a special program of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance, will host “Philanthropy and Giving Back — a Fireside Chat on Making a Difference,” 5:30 to 7 p.m., Albright College Campus Center South Lounge, 1621 N. 13th St., Reading. This event will feature a discussion led by Kirsten Haas, executive director of Girls on the Run of Berks County, and Tracy Parmer of First Energy, a community advocate. Together, they’ll explore ways to engage in philanthropy, from volunteering and mentorship to advocacy and leadership. The discussion will be followed by a structured networking session. Berks LaunchBox presents “Create Social Media Content for your Brand that Stands Out with Canva,” 1 to 2 p.m., virtually via Zoom. Canva is an online digital design, animation, and editing software. This webinar will break down some of the basics for using the platform when it comes to graphic design for social media content. Focus will be on coming up with your own unique digital designs to tell the story of your brand without looking like a cheap AI bot, or digital copy-cat.
