Conrad Weiser advanced to its fifth straight District 3 Class 2A team tennis final with a 4-1 victory over Wyomissing Monday at Hershey Racquet Club.
In Class 3A, Berks champ Reading High fell 3-0 to six-time defending champ Manheim Township in the semifinals, but already has earned a a berth in the PIAA Tournament.
The two-time defending champ Scouts (15-2) outlasted the Spartans (11-2) in a match that lasted three-and-a-half hours.
Weiser will face Lancaster Country Day (15-0), a 3-0 winner over Lampeter-Strasburg Monday, in the final Wednesday in Hershey Racquet Club at 3:30 p.m. The semifinal victory also clinched a berth in states for Weiser.
Wyomissing will play Lampeter-Strasburg (13-3) in the third-place match for a berth in states Tuesday at Hershey Racquet Club at 3:30 p.m.
The Scouts got singles wins from Emma Perkins at No. 1 (default walkover), Victoria Waltz at No. 2 and Isabel Wiggins at No. 3, and a doubles win from Emily McGonigle and Reagan Wenrich at No. 2.
The Spartans’ victory came from the No. 1 doubles team of Hadley Lynch and Lexi Alta.
Against Township (12-0), Reading High (16-2) lost at No. 1 and No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles. No.3 singles and No. 1 doubles were not completed.
The Red Knights will face Cumberland Valley (15-3) in the third-place match Tuesday at Hershey Racquet Club at 2 p.m. Cumberland Valley lost 3-1 to New Oxford in the other semifinal.
