Elco scored twice in a seven-minute span in the second half on the way to a 4-2 win over Daniel Boone in a District 3 Class 3A girls soccer quarterfinal game Thursday at Cedar Crest High School.
Emily Miller scored her first goal of the season off a free kick in the 61st minute to break a 2-2 tie, then Elco’s Sophie Irvin scored in the 68th minute.
The seventh-seeded Blazers (14-7) had taken a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by Amy Schafer off an assist from Gabby Fontana on a corner kick.
Second-seeded Elco (15-3) tied it 90 seconds later on a goal by Carsyn Boyer, then took the lead on another goal by Boyer two minutes after that.
Down 2-1, the Blazers controlled the first 15 minutes of the second half before tying it in the 58th minute on a goal by Lily Ferguson. Ferguson intercepted an attempted clear by the goalie and scored from about 12 yards.
Elco will face sixth-seeded Red Land in the semifinals Monday at Cedar Crest at 7 p.m.
