Daniel Boone Optimist Club Halloween Parade offers scares, music, fun

The Daniel Boone Optimist Club’s Annual Halloween Parade at the Lake Drive Park and Recreation Area along Lake Drive in  Douglassville featured scares, music, fun and, of course, candy on Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Motorized floats were also aplenty, including a medieval castle complete with a dragon (the blowup kind), Scooby Doo’s Mystery Machine, and Jurassic Park.

“I love seeing the community come out and do something fun together. It warms my heart to watch little children in their costumes and hear the laughter from teenagers. Whether you are young or young at heart, there is something for everyone at the Daniel Boone Optimist Club Halloween Parade,” said Daniel Boone Optimist Club President Lydia Rieger in a statement.

Rieger served as the parade Grand Marshal.

“You can enter a costume contest for your children or your pets, dance to the DJ music, get free snacks or buy from the food vendor. You can walk in the parade or watch. It’s a great night to enjoy the fall sunset, chat with your friends and have fun as a community,” added Rieger.
