It’s that time of year again — the season of giving, gratitude, and celebrating the good within our community. For the third year in a row, Discovery Federal Credit Union is proud to continue the holiday tradition of hosting an Angel Tree to support families connected with Opportunity House.
Opportunity House, a Berks County-based organization, empowers individuals facing homelessness by providing safety, stability, community, and life skills that help them rebuild and thrive. Their mission is close to our hearts, and each year we’re honored to lend a hand during the holiday season.
This year, after talking with the Opportunity House team, Discovery FCU decided to do things a little differently. Instead of sponsoring just one or two families, they’ve expanded to support five families, each with unique needs and circumstances. This year, three single mothers and their children, a single father with MS and his two daughters, and a pair of grandparents raising their grandchildren are included. The credit union is collecting gifts for the adults and children, so that no one is left out.
Please participate by visiting the Angel Tree in the lobby of Discovery FCU, 2744 Century Blvd., Wyomissing. Unwrapped gifts can be returned with the tag by Wednesday, Dec. 17.
