District 3 Class 4A girls basketball: Wyomissing will go for a three-peat

The Wyomissing girls basketball team will go for its third straight district title on Friday night in Hershey.

The Spartans disposed of Northern Lebanon 43-39 Tuesday night in the semifinals of the District 3 Class 4A basketball tournament, sending them to Hershey for a shot at a third straight district title.

Wyomissing (21-2) will play Lancaster Catholic at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Giant Center in Hershey for the district title.

Lancaster Catholic (22-4) defeated Delone Catholic 52-31 Tuesday night in the other semifinal game.

The Spartans advanced Tuesday night as Albany commit Amaya Stewart scored 12 points and Aubrey Hurleman added eight.

Wyomissing won the district title in 2023 with a 35-30 win over Delone Catholic and then beat Delone again last year 45-32.

Wyomissing (twice), Delone Catholic (twice) and Lancaster Catholic (three times) have won the last seven Class 4A titles.
