Macy Adams scored in the third quarter for the game’s only goal as sixth-seeded Wilson defeated third-seeded Penn Manor 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the District 3 Class 3A field hockey tournament.
The Bulldogs (15-4-2) will play the winner of Lower Dauphin-Central York in the semifinals on Wednesday.
Caroline Horace assisted on Adams’ goal which came at the 13:36 mark of the third quarter.
In an evenly played game, Wilson had a 6-5 edge in shots.
Girls soccer
Cat Mooney scored three goals to lead fifth-seeded Bishop McDevitt to a 3-2 win over fourth-seeded Schuylkill Valley in a District 3 Class 2A girls soccer quarterfinal on Saturday.
For the Panthers (16-3), Addie Becht and Elyssa Sellers each scored a goal and had an assist.
Schuylkill Valley goalie Cailyn Smith didn’t record a save.
Girls volleyball
Top-seeded Hempfield defeated ninth-seeded Wilson 25-17, 25-19, 25-23 in the quarterfinals of the District 3 Class 4A girls volleyball quarterfinals on Saturday.
For the Bulldogs (15-8), Keira Benner had 9 kills, Aicha Kann had 6 kills and 5 blocks, Naveah Paye had 4 kills and 3 blocks, and Ashlan Moyer had 16 kills.
Boys soccer
Rocco Perella scored two goals and Tommy McFadden had a goal and three assists as fourth-seeded Wilson defeated 12th-seeded Penn Manor 5-2 in the quarterfinals of the District 3 Class 4A boys soccer tournament on Saturday.
The Bulldogs (16-3) also got goals from Brody Stuck and Nik Rohm.
Wilson plays the winner of Cumberland Valley-Northeastern in Tuesday’s semifinals.
