About the “Murder’s in the Heir” Show
When you turn the classic game “Clue” into a play, you get the masterfully entertaining “Murder’s in the Heir!” Filled with twists, laughs, and suspense, this hilarious mystery features an ensemble cast where almost every character has the weapon, opportunity, and motive to commit the unseen murder — and it’s up to the audience to decide who actually did it!
Each of the heirs to tyrannical billionaire Simon Starkweather (played by Amari King) has reason to do away with him. When Starkweather gathers his family and employees to announce the contents of his will, his lawyer Lois Van Zandt (Lily Rompella) reveals that he has left vast fortunes to his befuddled niece Fiona (Ella Mackey), her playboy son Jordan (August Merwin), his great-niece Paula (Brianna Boyles), his grandson Simon III (Sirius Hunter), and even to several of his loyal servants.
But then comes the bombshell — within hours, the will becomes invalid. Naturally, the disinherited heirs are not pleased, and soon they’re seen roaming the mansion with suspicious items like an ax, a gun, and poison. When the lights go out, Simon is found murdered, and Simon III sets out to uncover his grandfather’s killer with the help of detective Mike Davis (Logan Hellwig).
Also starring Kendall Meade, Ryan Hernandez, Nevaeh Foran, Kennedy Rock, Aurora Olson, Victoria Nuss, Elizabeth Schwenk, Myalexa Santana, Niko Frederick, Kevin Speakman, and Conor Quigley, this production features a unique twist: the audience decides the ending! Secret ballots collected at intermission determine who the killer is in this clever whodunit.
Put your detective skills to the test at “Murder’s in the Heir!” Performances will be held in the Exeter Township Senior High School auditorium located at 201 E. 37th St., Reading, on Thursday, Nov. 6, and Saturday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m., with a matinee on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and senior citizens. Sunday’s show is free for senior citizens aged 60 and older. Purchase tickets at the door or reserve your seats online now at exeterhs.seatyourself.biz.
