Fleetwood, Wilson, Conrad Weiser and Tulpehocken earn wins in Berks boys soccer quarterfinals

The final four is set following Saturday’s quarterfinals of the Berks Boys Soccer League playoffs.

Top-seeded Fleetwood defeated rival and No. 8 seed Oley Valley 5-1 at Fleetwood.

After a scoreless first half, the Tigers’ offense came alive in the second half, as seniors Carson Brey and Nate Herb, sophomore Logan DeLillo and junior Tanner Smith each scored and the Lynx allowed an own goal. Senior Josh Avila had two assists, while junior Owen Bice finished with one assist.

Trailing 4-0, sophomore Luke Williamson scored an unassisted goal for Oley Valley (12-7) to end the shutout. Sophomore goalkeeper Wily Loy recorded two saves for Fleetwood (17-1).

The Tigers will host fourth-seeded Wilson on Tuesday at 7 p.m., as the Bulldogs earned a 3-1 win over fifth-seeded Kutztown at West Lawn.

Juniors Nik Rohm and Tommy McFadden and senior Declan Moyer scored for the Bulldogs (11-6-2) in the first half. Rohm had two assists, while Moyer recorded one.

Sophomore Robbie Ott scored an unassisted goal for the Cougars (17-2) in the second half. Junior goalie Dylan Mummolo finished with seven saves for Wilson.

At Robesonia, second-seeded Conrad Weiser defeated seventh-seeded Gov. Mifflin 4-2 to advance to the county semifinals for the first time since 2007.

The game was tied 1-1 at the half. With the score 2-2 in the second half, the Scouts (17-2) scored twice in the span of 58 seconds to take a 4-2 lead with 10 minutes remaining.

Junior Gavin Rapp scored two goals for the Scouts and senior Bradley Harris and sophomore Owen Hunt each scored once. Hunt and senior Julien Moll recorded assists.

Seniors Tyler Spies and Sean Armour each scored for the Mustangs (6-10-1). Senior goalkeeper Gavin Wagner recorded two saves for Conrad Weiser.

“The weather definitely played a big factor in today’s game,” Scouts coach Derek Long said. “We weren’t able to possess the ball and play our style of soccer that we love. However, we came out with a lot more intensity in the second half and ultimately persevered.”

Conrad Weiser will host third-seeded Tulpehocken on Tuesday at 7 p.m., as the Trojans defeated sixth-seeded Muhlenberg 4-1.

The defending Berks champions, the Trojans (18-1) took a 3-0 lead by the early stages of the second half thanks to two goals from sophomore Connor Hussman and one from senior Gael Velazquez. Senior Weston Campbell and junior Vinny Tartaglia were each credited with assists.

Sophomore Adam Isardat put the Muhls (11-6) on the board in the second half. Junior Jayden Kantner had the assist.

Tulpehocken responded with a goal from senior Seth Palm-Rittle, who scored off an assist from Velazquez. Senior goalie Nick Becker finished with four saves for the Trojans.
