Help A Girl Out Product Drive 2025 Drop-Off Locations Announced

From Muhlenberg Greene Architects

Now in its fourth year, the Help A Girl Out (HAGO) grassroots effort provides feminine products and diapers to women and girls served by our local nonprofits. The 2024 drive collected 47,314 units of product.

This year, HAGO has received support from over 35 locations across the county. Members of the public are asked to review the list of locations and drop off much-needed products.

The donations will be provided to the community through nonprofit partners Co-County Wellness Services and Helping Harvest, offering distribution channels to organizations and schools in Berks and Schuylkill counties.

Muhlenberg Greene Architects and Be Mine Boutique in West Reading are collaborating with JPrutzman Enterprises, Coldwell Banker Realty, and many local businesses for the 2025 drive. Local businesses are accepting product donations through Thursday, March 6, at the following locations:

Donations from all collection sites will be convened at Helping Harvest in Wyomissing between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday, March 7. Collected products will be counted and then distributed by Helping Harvest via the order form.

Items may also be drop shipped from the Amazon Wish List to Helping Harvest C/O HAGO: www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2HOHJEY2B96QP?ref_=wl_share.

About Period Poverty

Period poverty is defined as inadequate access to menstrual hygiene products and education, which disproportionally affects lower-income families. According to the Alliance for Period Supplies, 1 in 7 women and girls between the ages of 12 and 44 live below the Federal Poverty Line in Pennsylvania.

Without access to these products, many women who are already struggling to make ends meet cannot go to work. 1 in 4 teens in the U.S. has missed class due to lack of access to period supplies. Many women and girls resort to using other items on hand, such as shoe insoles, toilet paper, cardboard, or socks, which can lead to dangerous infections. Visit The Period Alliance for more information.
