Introducing ‘Experience Reading & Berks County,’ A Fresh Brand, A New Story to Tell!

From Experience Reading & Berks County – Every Stop Has a Story

The Reading and Berks County Visitors Bureau proudly unveiled its new brand and logo, Experience Reading & Berks County – Every Stop Has a Story, at a special morning reception held on Thursday, Nov. 6, at Saucony Creek Franklin Station Brewpub. The event welcomed board members, hospitality partners, and community leaders for the exciting reveal.

The new logo features the Pagoda, a hawk, and a train, and captures the heart of Reading and Berks County: its history, natural beauty, and enduring spirit of discovery.

To guide the rebranding process, the visitors bureau partnered with Red House Communications, a Pittsburgh-based advertising agency with extensive experience in tourism branding and destination marketing. Over the course of six months, Red House developed and presented a variety of potential names, logos, and taglines to the bureau and its board of directors for review and feedback.

Following multiple rounds of creative exploration, two strong brand concepts emerged. Red House then conducted a public survey of 650 participants to gather community input. They were asked about the appeal, memorability, uniqueness, and execution of each concept.  The result was a clear favorite — Experience Reading and Berks County – Every Stop Has a Story — won the vote by a resounding margin of 89%.

Heather Zimmerman, President of the Reading and Berks County Convention & Visitors Bureau, expressed enthusiasm for the new direction: “I am thrilled with our new brand and logo. Because Reading is one of Pennsylvania’s largest cities, it’s a known destination, so we felt it was important that the city be part of our name. The logo reflects our history, our landscape, and the many stories that define our community. Every place our visitors explore tells a story, and this brand perfectly represents who we are.”

With this new identity, Experience Reading & Berks County continues its mission to promote the region’s diverse attractions, communities, and stories — inspiring both visitors and locals to explore all that makes Berks County extraordinary.
