Jazz Brunch coming to Walk In Art Center in Schuylkill Haven

The WCJO Jazz Combo is back for another Jazz Brunch on Sunday, Jan. 26. Brunch will begin at 10:30 a.m., and the music will start at 11.

The four-piece combo is made up of some of the best jazz musicians in central Pennsylvania. Keyboardist Steve Adams is a sought-after jazz arranger who plays with several combos and  orchestras in the Sunbury-Northumberland area.

Dick Adams (no relation) has been active in the region’s music scene for more than 20 years. A founding member of “Jazzin,” he performs regularly and has been a guest artist/clinician for Dickinson College, Lock Haven University and Bloomsburg University, among others. As a concert saxophonist, he performs with the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra and is an applied saxophone instructor at Lycoming College.

Tim Breon has traveled the East Coast with The David Rose Band and has performed often in major cities. He is the principal bassist and stage manager for the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra and has backed great performers, including Clay Aiken, Olivia Newton-John, Davy Jones and jazz great David Liebman.

Bob Leidhecker rounds out the quartet on drums. Appearing with the world-renowned Empire Brass Quintet from 1986 to 1994, Bob has performed with the Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Detroit, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Cincinnati, Rhode Island and Rochester Symphony Orchestras. Bob has also performed at the South Street Seaport and Carnegie Hall in New York , the Boston Esplanade, toured twice in Japan and played with the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center in Washington. He is a certified Yamaha drums clinician, principal percussionist for the Williamsport Symphony and is a founding member of the Williamsport City Jazz Orchestra.

Tickets are $30 and include a catered brunch, beverages, mimosas and of course some great music. WIAC artists will be on hand and will paint during the performance.
