The Berks County Parks & Recreation Department continues to present programs promoting nature, history, and outdoor activity throughout the month of November 2025.

Wednesday, Nov. 5 | Full Moon Hike | 5:30 p.m. @ Gring’s Mill
Walk the trails of the Union Canal Trail on the evening of the full moon! Wear sturdy hiking or walking shoes, and bring a flashlight. We’ll be outside the entire time, so dress warm.
Free. | Registration is required.

Saturday, Nov. 8 | History Hike: Antietam Lake Park | 9 a.m. @ Antietam Lake Park, Angora Trailhead Lot
Learn the fascinating history of Antietam Lake’s creation, the surrounding hillside’s past, and why it stands as a reminder for us all to take care of the land.
Free. | Registration is suggested.

Sunday, Nov. 16 | Colonial Candle Workshop | 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. @ Beidler House
This class provides a detailed, hands-on experience, resulting in your own 100% natural beeswax-dipped candle. For more information, call 610-374-8839.
Registration fee is $5.00. Material fee is $25.00. | Registration is required.

Tuesday, Nov. 18 | Trail Tales | 10 a.m. @ Berks Heritage Center
Get wrapped up in a trail tale, and discover plants and animal friends in our parks. This toddler-age program focuses on a nature topic each month, partnered with a story and a craft. Geared towards children ages 3 to 5.
Free. | Registration is required.

Wednesday, Nov. 19 | Junk Journaling | 6 p.m. @ Berks Heritage Center
This is an open session-style class where journaling friends can gather!
Free. | Registration is required.
