Berks History Center (BHC), formerly known as the Historical Society of Berks County, will celebrate its founding with an inaugural event, “Founder’s Day Open House.” This family-friendly event is free and open to people of all ages, offering a unique opportunity to explore the rich history of Berks County. Join us on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Berks History Center, 940 Centre Ave., Reading.
BHC’s Founder’s Day Open House will allow the opportunity to explore BHC’s museum and research library, where guests can delve into the fascinating historical artifacts and archives that document the county’s storied past. History experts will be stationed throughout the museum, ready to answer questions and share their extensive knowledge about Berks County’s heritage. Children can look forward to engaging activities designed to make learning about history fun and interactive.
Attendees will also receive an exclusive sneak peek at the BHC’s upcoming museum revitalization project, which promises to enhance the visitor experience with new exhibits and interactive displays. To add to the festivities, Big Dawgz Cook’n will be on-site, serving up a variety of delicious food available for purchase.
