Conrad Weiser ran the table this fall in Section 3 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League, so it should be no surprise the Scouts won their share of post-season football awards.
In a vote of the LL’s coaches, quarterback Donovan Gingrich was voted the outstanding back of the year and the outstanding offensive back of the year.
His teammate, Evan Rittle, was voted the outstanding wide receiver of the year and Scouts’ coach Alan Moyer was named the coach of the year.
In 11 games, Gingrich had more than 2,000 total yards, as the Scouts went 6-0 in Section 3 and 10-0 in the regular season. They lost to Bishop McDevitt in the District 3 playoffs.
Gingrich threw for 1,545 yards, completing 110 of 165 passes with 17 touchdowns and just two interceptions. He rushed for a team-leading 561 yards on 80 carries and scored 10 touchdowns.
Rittle caught 35 passes for 561 yards and 9 touchdowns.
