State Rep. Jamie Barton is encouraging constituents in Berks and Schuylkill counties to participate in the public comment period for the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority Digital Equity Plan.
The plan is required to access the state’s share of $2.75 billion in federal funds to expand broadband access in the commonwealth.
“I’m sounding the alarm to rally everyone in Berks and Schuylkill counties to let the authority know Pennsylvania deserves its fair share of the funding,” the 124th District Republican said in an announcement issued by his office. “This is a call to action for all the rural areas of our commonwealth. You deserve a solid internet connection just as much as our urban communities.”
The public comment period closes Jan. 8.
