Join the League of Women Voters of Berks County as they present “Election Retention,” airing on BCTV on Tuesday, Oct. 21, and Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 9 p.m.
During this show, the League of Women Voters of Berks County hopes to provide answers to the following questions:
- What are judicial retention elections? Why do we have them?
- What do different Pennsylvania courts do? Who are the candidates for those courts?
- What is the process for electing judges?
- What is the process for replacing judges who retire, reach a term limit, or are not retained?
- What are current judicial term limits? How can citizens change them?
- What are good sources of nonpartisan information on judges up for election or retention?
- Why election advertising is like all advertising? (It’s a sales pitch.)

- Jeffrey D. Bukowski: Guest. Attorney, head of the litigation department at Smith Bukowski, and special counsel in election law matters.
