According to “Director of Election Services is hired” (Reading Eagle, Feb. 4), newly hired elections director Paige Riegner was asked if she believed the 2020 election was free and fair. Her reply was that she did not want to discuss the past. Her lack of endorsing the results of the presidential election would lead one to believe that she is a minion of former President Donald Trump. We do not need a person in such a delicate position as counting votes to be perceived as prejudiced. She should either wholeheartedly recognize Joe Biden as the fairly elected president or resign.
