From Yocum Institute for Arts Education
Get ready for an unforgettable twist on a classic tale! The Miller Center for the Arts proudly presents Little Red’s Unusual Day, an operatic adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood, generously supported by the Bruce & Renee Dietrich Endowment for the Arts. This production is a collaboration between Berks Opera Company, the Miller Center for the Arts, and the Yocum Institute for Arts Education. It will take place on Friday, Feb. 7, starting at 6:30 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 8, starting at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., at the Miller Center for the Arts in Reading, PA.
This unique production weaves scenes from operas by Jacques Offenbach and Gioachino Rossini into a hilarious and heartwarming story filled with unexpected surprises.
The adventure begins when Forest Ranger Dudley, too shy to ask the widow Hood to the Forest Ranger Ball, leaves an invitation in a basket of flowers. But when the basket ends up in the hands of Granny—who has a fondness for men in uniform—chaos ensues! From misplaced invitations to unexpected kisses and a Wolf in the mix, the characters face a whirlwind of confusion and comedy that makes this a truly unusual day.
Join us for this delightful blend of music, humor, and operatic brilliance that will entertain audiences of all ages. For tickets and more information, please visit millercenter.racc.edu.
