McCarthy Engineering Associates, Inc. proudly announces the addition of Joseph Woodnorth, E.I.T., to its growing team of engineering professionals. Woodnorth joins the firm as a Project Engineer, with two years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong foundation in stormwater and environmental systems.
Woodnorth holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University. He is certified as an Engineering Intern (E.I.T.) in Delaware and has successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam.
Since joining McCarthy Engineering Associates, Woodnorth has taken on a wide range of responsibilities, including erosion and sediment control design, stormwater management (SWM) design, and NPDES permitting. His role as Project Engineer has allowed him to take the lead on several initiatives, including the design of a mine reclamation project and the stormwater management design for multiple land development projects.
Woodnorth began his career at Wilkinson Design Group, LLC, where he served as a Staff Engineer. During his time there, he contributed to a variety of land development projects and developed a passion for sustainable site design.
Beyond technical contributions, Woodnorth is passionate about the future of engineering and is eager to represent McCarthy Engineering at university career fairs to help inspire the next generation of civil engineers. His vision includes fostering mentorship, encouraging career development, and expanding the firm’s influence among young professionals.
Woodnorth is also active in the community through his work with the Appalachian Mountain Trail Crew, where he has contributed to maintaining and constructing sections of the Appalachian Trail. His volunteerism reflects his commitment to both environmental stewardship and community engagement.
