My Gut Instinct Gears Up for Undy Ride & Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

From My Gut Instinct, Inc.

My Gut Instinct, Inc. is bringing awareness for colorectal cancer with its fourth annual Undy 500. This event will bring together the community for an afternoon focused on colon cancer prevention. Colorectal cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in men and women in the United States, affecting approximately 150k people per year, of which a third will die of the disease. This is because 1 in 3 Americans, even those with insurance, are not screened when recommended. It is a leading cause of cancer death in young men and women between the ages of 20 to 49! Colon cancer is beatable in 90% of cases when detected early, and with appropriate screening, it is often entirely preventable.

The Undy 500 will take place at Classic Harley-Davidson, located at 983 James Dr., Leesport, on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Join My Gut Instinct, Inc. for a free, family-friendly event at its special fourth annual Undy 500 in conjunction with Derby Day. Bring your favorite wheels (whether it be a bicycle, motorcycle, scooter, skateboard, rollerblades, unicycle, you name it), and walk/ride/gallop our 500m obstacle course site at Classic Harley-Davidson while wearing your free pair of commemorative Undy Ride boxer shorts or your own skivvies.

Ride in solidarity through our inflatable colon for all those who are survivors or victims of colorectal cancer. Free at-home stool kits will be given away to those who have never been screened to test themselves at home. Feel free to dress in dark blue for the event, as that’s the color for colon cancer. There will be food for purchase from Scott’s Gyro Box Food Truck, and all participants who complete the obstacle course in their undies will receive a $5 coupon towards food purchase.

This event also serves as ‘double duty’ to get motorcycles ready for the new riding season. Those who have never been screened and own a motorcycle will get a free oil change for their bike that is good through Dec. 31, 2025, as long as they get their first colonoscopy in 2025. In other words, check your oil and check all your pipes! In sticking with the Derby Day theme, take a cold plunge in our real horse trough wearing your new Undy 500 shorts.

My Gut Instinct, Inc. is accepting donations for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, with extra raffle tickets given for donations of $5 and over. For those 21+ who donate, My Gut Instinct, Inc. is offering a free beer, mint juleps, or a bourbon spritzer to celebrate one of the most festive horse races of the year!

During the event, My Gut Instinct, Inc. will have live music from Jeff Miller and Nancy. My Gut Instinct, Inc. is bringing back the Poop Shoot game, where you can win prizes, which include a Harley-Davidson Museum tour for two in Milwaukee, WI; two wristbands to Sturgis Bike Rally, Reading Phillies Box Seat tickets in the front row behind home plate, and a Dean electric guitar! My Gut Instinct, Inc. will also have the Reading Royals Slapshot Mascot and Ice Angels in attendance. Many thanks to the event sponsor, Classic Harley-Davidson.
