The Penn State Berks Advisory Board welcomes eight new members, who were officially appointed by Penn State Interim Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses Renata Engel. The new members represent the fields of education, industry, and the nonprofit sector and include alumni of Penn State Berks.
Beginning in September 2026, the Penn State Berks Advisory Board will officially welcome Walter Banta, vice president of operations for Brentwood Industries; Andrew Hoffert, assistant superintendent at Wilson School District; Jackie Hollenbach, vice president of research and development for Teleflex; Nicholas Price, Main Street executive director for West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation; Kelly Spayd, realtor at Keller Williams Platinum Realty; Keith Stamm, director of workforce development for the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance; Pete Stanislawczyk, vice president and chief commercial officer for East Penn Manufacturing Company; and Melissa Woodard, superintendent at the Wyomissing Area School District.
Walter Banta serves as vice president of operations for Brentwood Industries, where he oversees the planning and execution of manufacturing processes across Brentwood’s global network of facilities in all sites throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. With a background in engineering, Banta joined Brentwood in 2013 and has previously worked in a variety of positions in operations, market development, and marketing within the company.
Andrew Hoffert is the assistant superintendent for student services and programs at the Wilson School District. He has more than two decades of experience and has held a variety of positions in education. He has also served as an adjunct instructor at Cabrini College and Alvernia University. Hoffert earned a B.S. in special education from Penn State. He holds an M.Ed. in special education from Lehigh University and an Ed.D. in educational leadership and management from Drexel University. He also earned K-12 principal certification from Penn State Great Valley.
Jackie Hollenbach serves as vice president of research and development at Teleflex. She has more than 35 years of experience working in the medical device field, in such areas as manufacturing operations, process development, and corporate strategy. Hollenbach earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering technology from Penn State and a master’s degree in manufacturing systems engineering from Lehigh University. She is a member of the board of directors for the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania and Berks Innovation Collaborative.
Nicholas Price serves as Main Street executive director for the West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation, where he oversees all major festivals, serves as community liaison representing the borough and business district, writes grants, and oversees promotional efforts for the business district. Price is a Penn State Berks alumnus, and he earned a B.S. in business. He also completed postgraduate coursework at Alvernia University. In addition, he serves on the West Reading Task Force and the Berks County Community Foundation’s Student Retention Committee.
Kelly Spayd is a realtor with Keller Williams Platinum Realty, where she provides a complete client service experience, from strategic marketing to professional staging and photography. She has nearly 20 years of experience in the real estate field. Spayd earned a B.S. in kinesiology from Penn State Berks. She is active in the Berks County community.
Keith Stamm is the director of workforce development for the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), where he develops and oversees programs addressing workforce priorities for Berks County employers and key industry sectors. He brings 20 years of experience in career pathways, workforce development, and cultivating strategic partnerships to his position. Stamm earned a B.A. in psychology from Alvernia University and a master’s degree in training and organizational development/adult learning from Saint Joseph’s University. He is active on several educational, workforce, and nonprofit advisory boards.
Pete Stanislawczyk serves as vice president and chief commercial officer for East Penn Manufacturing Company, where he oversees transportation sales segments. He joined East Penn in 1992 and has held a variety of leadership positions at the company. Stanislawczyk earned a B.S. in business administration from the University of Delaware and completed postgraduate studies at New Haven University. He is active within the energy storage industry, and he has been a contributor to key industry efforts. He is also an active member of several trade and community associations.
Melissa Woodard serves as superintendent of the Wyomissing Area School District. She has 29 years of experience in public education and has served in a variety of instructional and administrative positions. Woodward earned a B.S. in elementary education from West Chester University, a master’s degree in education from Kutztown University, a doctoral degree in educational and instructional leadership from Immaculata University, and a principal certification from Alvernia University. She serves as a trustee of the Oley Valley Community Education Foundation and as a board member of Teachers in the Parks and the Wyomissing West Reading Rotary Club.
The Penn State Berks Advisory Board is chaired by Patrick Dolan, president of Dolan Construction. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Carnegie Mellon. Adam Krick serves as vice chair. He is the vice president and deputy chief risk officer with Thompkins Community Bank. Krick began his education at Penn State Berks before completing his bachelor’s degree at Penn State University Park, and he earned an M.B.A. at Alvernia University. Scott Burky is the financial secretary. He is the business development manager for RKL LLP. A Penn State Berks alumnus, he earned his bachelor’s degree at Penn State and an M.B.A. from Elizabethtown College. For a complete list of Penn State Berks Advisory Board members, visit the website.
