Downtown Reading’s next First Friday block party is set for Aug. 2, featuring music, food and family-friendly activities, city officials announced.
The event Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. will take place in the 600 block of Penn Street and is appropriate for all ages, according to the city’s announcement.
Highlights of the event include:
- A variety of ethnic and other food selections from downtown restaurants and vendors.
- A beer garden fueled by Pagoda City Brewing and cocktails by Skylight Cuisine & Bar.
- Music provided by a DJ.
- Recreational pickleball games by Coach Larry Zerbe of Z4ALL.
- Bouncy House, bubble station and other family-friendly activities and games, including cornhole, Jumbo Jenga and Connect Four.
- Information and activities hosted by local organizations.
