Reading Hospital Road Run raises $45,000

The Reading Hospital Road Run raised $45,000 to support programs at Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing, officials said.

More than 800 people registered for the event, hosted by The Friends of Reading Hospital, at Reading Hospital’s campus Sunday. Participants enjoyed a morning of races, health education, and family fun.

This year, participants chose from a selection of courses, including a 10K, 5K and free fun run, which took runners and walkers through West Reading and on Reading Hospital’s campus.

“Road Run is a special event every year,” said Beth Kohl, president of The Friends of Reading Hospital. “But this year felt extra special. We are so grateful for everyone who showed up in support of the rehab hospital. We truly poured our hearts into this event to ensure there was something for everyone, and it was wonderful to see everything come together and the community having a great time.”

The rehab hospital provides care to patients who have experienced functional loss or disability following an accident, illness or injury.

Following the race, participants were encouraged to visit resource and activity stations.
