Reading Hospital to Host Lung Cancer Screenings on Nov. 9

In recognition of Lung Cancer Awareness Month, Reading Hospital is offering CT lung cancer screenings on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 8 a.m. to noon. Appointments are required to receive a screening, and interested individuals will also need a doctor’s order.

This lung cancer screening is a painless, low-dose CT scan, and it can help to detect lung abnormalities early.

“Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States,” said Shoja Rahimian, DO, Reading Hospital Hematology Oncology. “While this is a staggering statistic, it’s important to know that early detection can increase survival rates up to 90%.”
