West Reading got a taste of outrageous 1970s humor and fashion this weekend thanks to Berks Encore’s Roper Romp fundraiser.

Participants dressed in the manner of Helen Roper, the fun-loving landlady from the sitcom “Three’s Company” — flowing caftans, oversized sunglasses, red wigs, and retro glam.

The Saturday activity was part of Berks Encore’s 60th anniversary celebration. It raised funds for Meals on Wheels Berks County.

The event included stops at several West Reading eating and drinking establishments.

Meals on Wheels brings nutritious meals and provides friendly visits to homebound seniors, ensuring they receive daily nutrition and social interaction.
