Route 422 eastbound is closed at Douglasville after a fatal crash, emergency officials said.
The crash happened shortly after 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ben Franklin Highway, which is Route 422, and River Bridge Road in Amity Township and reportedly involved a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle. The occupant of the passenger vehicle was reported to be trapped in the wreckage.
The Berks County coroner’s office was dispatched.
The closure is expected to be for an extended period, officials said.
