Emergency officials determined that a person who fell through ice on Lake Ontelaunee on Saturday was able to get out before rescue crews arrived.
The crews were dispatched about 3:30 p.m. Saturday for a report that someone fishing on the lake may have fallen through the ice near Lake Drive and Calcium Road in Maidencreek Township
Fire and rescue crews including marine and scuba units descended on the area along with Northern Berks Regional police. After a search, it was determined that while someone may have fallen through the ice, no one was underwater and the incident was closed, police said.
