The Pennsylvania State Police are conducting a death investigation of a 66-year-old Brookhaven man along Interstate 95 south in Upper Chichester that occurred Thanksgiving night.
Troopers say the incident happened shortly before 9:45 p.m. when troopers discovered the man “adjacent” to a vehicle parked near mile marker 1.2.
In the public information release, troopers said there was no sign of foul play or criminal indicators, but they are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Trooper William Corvese with the criminal investigation unit at the Media station at 484-840-1000.
The public information release didn’t specify whether it was the same incident already reported on by the Daily Times involving a man found unresponsive Thanksgiving night in a manhole along the highway.
Radio traffic that night showed fire and ambulance crews dispatched shortly before 10:30 p.m. to a manhole along Interstate 95 south in Upper Chichester.
Municipal fire crews were told that the male was 4 or 5 feet down and unresponsive. The vehicle he arrived in was nearby.
The extrication of that male was completed at 11:07 p.m. and there was no transport to a hospital.
Monroe Energy Refinery personnel were also on scene.
The Daily Times is not aware of any other incidents along the interstate that night.
