Stephanie Rado Taormina, renowned multimedia artist, designer, and entrepreneur, is set to unveil her first solo art show in Berks County on Sunday, March 23, in the Holleran Gallery at The Yocum Institute for Arts Education from 2-5 p.m. The opening reception for her exhibition titled Return to Magic, featuring work from her Magic Series, created in 2024, marks a significant “homecoming” for the celebrated Berks County artist. The exhibition will be on display from Sunday, March 23, to Saturday, April 26.
Stephanie has been a vibrant part of the Berks County community for decades, known for her work as an interior designer, fine artist, fashion designer, and founder of the lifestyle brand Have Some Fun Today (HSFT). This exhibition offers a rare glimpse into her personal artistic journey and a renewed dedication to the art world.
“Last year I had one goal for my art – to get a solo art show on my calendar, so when the Berks Art Council asked me if I would be interested in a show, I was incredibly grateful because of the impact the former Wyomissing Institute had played in my journey as an artist. It is a homecoming of sorts,” said Taormina.
Stephanie’s connection to Berks County dates back to 1981, when she moved to the area at the age of 16. She enrolled in art classes at the Wyomissing Institute of the Arts, studying oil painting, watercolors, and acrylics under esteemed local artists, including Jack Coggins, from the New York City Grand Central School of Art, and Judith Krieger, a celebrated watercolorist. These experiences ignited a lifelong passion for painting in various mediums.
“It was a little intimidating at first,” Taormina recalled. “But the experience was intoxicating and set the stage for my lifelong love of the arts.”
Over the years, Stephanie immersed herself in the local arts community. She was actively involved with The Freedman Gallery as a member of the Friends of The Freedman Gallery and maintained an artist studio at The GoggleWorks for three years during its formative years. Her journey later led her to launch HSFT, a lifestyle brand that celebrates positivity and joy.
Stephanie Rado Taormina: A Return to Magic serves as a reflection on her artistic evolution, from her early days in Berks County to her current chapter, where she is reintroducing her art into her life and brand. This show represents her latest pivot—merging her artistry with HSFT and reconnecting with the community that played a pivotal role in her development.
“The arts community here once felt so thriving,” Taormina shared. “Between working with The Freedman Gallery, being part of The GoggleWorks’ beginnings, and now presenting this show, I feel like I’ve come full circle. This exhibition is my way of sharing the journey with my community.”
