About “Forest Secrets”

“Forest Secrets” by Lauralynn White channels the transformation myth of the Mesoamerican goddesses: Mayan Ix Chel (Chak Chel), Aztec Toci, and Olmec Jaguar Women. They are rulers of the Night Sun, possessing power, resilience, courage, leadership, and strength. The transformed Shamanic werejaguar is adept at communication between spiritual realms. Jaguar women also bring about fertility and herald the coming of regeneration and new growth. As a woman of 55, just now coming into her greatest life cycle, Lauralynn White feels a strong kinship to Jaguar goddesses as they share their knowledge.

Lauralynn White utilized oil-based paints, translucent fabrics, and traditional oil mediums/adhesives on canvas to create a blooming dream forest where Ix Chel communes and draws in their powers. www.LauralynnWhite.net
