From City of Reading
The City of Reading is pleased to announce that last night’s scheduled test of the Pagoda’s exterior lighting system was successful. As a result, Mayor Eddie Morán has directed that the Pagoda remain illuminated while renovation work continues, marking a significant milestone in the project’s progress. The lighting test validated the functionality of new electrical components and lighting fixtures installed as part of the comprehensive restoration and modernization effort.
“Our Pagoda stands as one of Reading’s greatest symbols, and seeing it lit once again is a moment of pride for our entire community,” said Mayor Morán. “This successful test brings us one step closer to fully restoring this treasured landmark. I want to thank our Public Works staff, contractors, and everyone involved for their continued dedication to this project.”
The City will continue to share updates as additional phases of the renovation project move forward, including improvements focused on structural integrity, accessibility, and long-term preservation.
