The Residence at Sinking Spring Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting on Sept. 25

by Michael Hughes

A new senior living community, The Residence at Sinking Spring, is now open in Berks County through a joint venture of IntegraCare and Weathervane Capital Partners. A ceremonial ribbon-cutting will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. at 440 Haines St., Sinking Spring.

The new senior living community has created approximately 100 jobs and will make a total of 131 apartments available to seniors. It will feature 60 Independent Living apartments, 51 personal care, and 20 apartments in our Memory Care Neighborhood. Additional amenities include a theater, salon, community room, bistro, activity rooms, and fitness centers.

“This new community with modern design features and amenities that will capture the expected increase in demand for senior living options and also accommodate residents transitioning from older built communities,” said Kevin Cysyk, IntegraCare Vice President of Development, Acquisition and CapEx. “Pennsylvania ranks fourth among all states in the percentage of citizens aged 65 and older, and age 85 and older. We are here to help this group that is most in need of senior housing.”

The Residence at Village Greens are part of the continued growth of IntegraCare, which operates 17 senior living communities located in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. U.S. News & World Report recently recognized 12 IntegraCare communities in the publication’s inaugural Best Senior Living list.

“We are very excited to open the doors on the first of several new senior care communities in Pennsylvania,” said Michael Murchie, Managing Partner at Weathervane Capital Partners. “The Residence at Village Greens combines the latest architectural design in a beautiful new building only to be matched by exceptional care for our seniors.”

IntegraCare is excited to be working with EarthView® on a sustainable approach to senior living that supports the well-being of its residents, families, staff, communities, and the environment. The Residence at Village Greens has been built in alignment with best practices for sustainable and healthy buildings promoting energy and water efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, waste diversion, and indoor air quality.

IntegraCare’s expansion throughout regions in three states has created a network of senior living communities that complement one another to better serve residents and their families.

The Residence at Village Greens is the first of two senior communities that IntegraCare and Weathervane will be opening in Berks County. The Residence at Boyertown is expected to open in 2025.

“Our growth has allowed our IntegraCare communities located in relatively close geographic areas to share resources to better serve our seniors and their families,” said IntegraCare CEO Larry Rouvelas. These so-called clusters of IntegraCare senior communities are ready to work together to reach the common goal of helping our residents enjoy the highest quality of life.”

The Residence at Village Greens Executive Operations Officer Terri Sanelli, who will run day-today operations added, “It’s been nearly two years since we broke ground at Village Greens and we are so excited the day has come when we can open our doors and welcome new residents and their families… Come on in!”
