The Traveling Exhibit Arrives at the Reading Public Museum

from the Reading Public Museum

This fall, the Reading Public Museum proudly presents Dinosaur Train: The Traveling Exhibit, an exciting, family-friendly experience based on the beloved PBS KIDS TV series from The Jim Henson Company.

Dinosaur Train: The Traveling Exhibit invites visitors to embark on an unforgettable adventure with Buddy, the curious Tyrannosaurus Rex, as he travels through time to explore the world of dinosaurs. Designed to inspire curiosity and spark a love of science, this interactive exhibit blends entertainment and education through hands-on activities that bring prehistoric creatures to life. The exhibit, created by The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum in collaboration with The Jim Henson Company, will be on display from now through Jan. 19, 2025.

“We are thrilled to host this dynamic exhibit,” said Mary Johnson, Manager of STEM and Family Education, the Reading Public Museum. “For many young minds, this could be the spark that ignites a lifelong passion for science and discovery.”

Locally broadcast on PBS (WHYY), Dinosaur Train captivates children by combining two of their favorite subjects—dinosaurs and trains—while encouraging early scientific thinking and exploration. Through imaginative play, visitors can join Buddy and his adoptive Pteranodon family as they journey across prehistoric landscapes, uncovering fascinating facts about life science, natural history, and paleontology.

In addition to the exhibit, the museum has planned a variety of family-friendly educational programs and events to enrich the experience, including special birthday party packages and hands-on activities designed to engage both children and adults.
