Thursday’s Berks water polo results: Reading High boys win

Trey Stricker scored six goals and Gabriel Iswalt had five as Reading High defeated Central York 14-9 in a boys water polo match on Thursday.

Stricker also had two steals and two assists, and Iswalt had six assists and six steals.

For the Red Knights, Dalton Rogers had two goals and three steals, Brock Shrawder had a goal, three assists and four steals, Collin Gilbert had four steals, Leo Thompson had three steals, and Matthew Kerchner had two steals and 10 saves.

Exeter 16, Muhlenberg 10

Evan Carl scored eight goals as Exeter defeated Muhlenberg 16-10 in a boys a water polo match on Thursday.

Alex Popa added three goals, three assists and three steals for the Eagles, and Charles Jacoby had two goals.

Aiden Boehm chipped in a goal, four assists and four steals, and James Gierlich had two steals. Will Keim had 17 saves, three assists and five steals.

Wilson 15, Gov. Mifflin 8

Ezekiel Eberly and Jackson Williams each scored four goals as Wilson defeated Gov. Mifflin 15-8 in a boys water polo match on Thursday.

Eberly also had two assists and Williams had two steals.

Ben Kulp scored two goals for the Bulldogs and Ephram Murray (six saves), Nate Baker, Charlie Carder, Eren Arslan and Keagan Eisenhofer each had a goal.

Justin Rest had two steals and Kai Boyer two assists and two 2 steals.

For the Mustangs, Jacob Troy (three steals) and Owen Ziolkowski (two steals) each scored three goals, and Evan Byrne and Grant DeLoretta had one goal each. Griffin Sborz made five saves.

Girls

Wilson 15, Gov. Mifflin 8

Olivia Vecchio scored five goals as Wilson defeated Gov. Mifflin 15-8 in girls water polo on Thursday.

Also for the Bulldogs, Emma Dougherty and Nevaeh Houck each scored three goals, and Evelyn Quick (four steals) had two goals and Lexi Stambaugh (four steals) and Sydney Streib one each.

Dougherty had four assists, and Lexi Schelgel and Houck two each.

For the Mustangs, Mackenzie Caron had five goals and five steals, and Nadia Medianick (three steals) had two goals and Isabella Harman one goal.

Wilson’s Sydney Woods made 12 saves, and the Mustangs’ Katie Kerschner made 14 saves.

Muhlenberg 8, Exeter 7

Neema Kamau scored two goals as Muhlenberg defeated Exeter 8-7 in girls water polo on Thursday.

For the Muhls, Mimi Sahaida, Kinley Guziak, Meghan Wagner, Raelin Tufariello and Amelia Fanning each scored a goal. Maddy McCraw had 13 saves and five steals.
