VOiCEup Berks to Host Local YVC 5K Walk for Compassion on Sept. 8

from VOiCEup Berks

VOiCEup Berks is excited to announce the upcoming YVC 5K Walk for Compassion at Penn State Berks Campus on Sunday, Sept. 8. This event is part of a national initiative hosted by Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) affiliates across the country, where youth from coast to coast will unite to walk for a more compassionate world.

Event details:

Why participate?

This isn’t just a walk—it’s a chance to contribute to something bigger. The YVC 5K Walk for Compassion, hosted locally by VOiCEup Berks, is dedicated to raising vital funds for youth programs in Berks County. These programs are designed to empower young people, helping them develop into tomorrow’s leaders and change-makers.

What to expect:

As participants lace up their sneakers for this 5K adventure, they’ll encounter several ‘Service Stations’ along the route. But these aren’t just your typical water stops—at each station, energetic YVC Reading students will be leading mini-service projects focused on addressing key community issues. It’s a unique opportunity to engage with our youth, contribute to impactful projects, and help build a better, stronger Berks County.

How to get involved:

Join us in making a difference

Your participation in the YVC 5K Walk for Compassion will directly support the expansion of YVC Reading programs, providing life-changing experiences that foster compassion, selflessness, and respect for others within our community.
